Watersports.

This is a rugged coastal area. The marine life, marine sport and marine activity is superb.
The Atlantic Sailing Club is based at Mannix Point. Visitors are welcome to take part but you must bring your own wet suit and buoyancy aid.
If you bring your own small boat, kayak or wind-surf board you will find the waters at Mannix Point perfect for your needs.

PADI training courses and boat dive trips. Includes information on dive sites and a guestbook. Based at Valentia Island, Kerry.

Whale Watching Trips - About three and a half hours, usually evenings.

Rib Thrills - About one and a half hours.

Day Fishing Trips - Minimum five persons on the boat.

Skellig Michael. A UNESCO World Heritage site. The highlight of a holiday in Kerry. You can pre-book at Mannix Point reception.

Stargazing.

Mannix Point is located right inside the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve. We have installed Dark-Sky compliant lighting so you can enjouy beautiful starry nights right from outside your tent or caravan. There are also numerous viewing areas within the reserve not far from Mannix Point.

Go to the beach.

There are nine beautiful beaches within easy reach of Mannix Point. Some have European Blue Flag status.

Go Walking.

Go Geocaching.

This area has some of the most popular and well-liked geocaches in the country to suit everyone's taste and ability. We also have one of the oldest caches in Munster: "Atlantic Whirlpool" was first established in June 2003.

Archaeology and History.

The Archaeological and Historical Sites near Mannix Point and along The Ring of Kerry Coast are too numerous to detail here. If this is your interest have a chat with me while you are here. An interesting foreshore walk takes you via Ballycarbery Castle, Cahergal and Leacanabuaile Stone Forts. You can borrow maps and details of the walk at Mannix Point reception.

Entertainment.

The Cahirciveen Celtic Festival of Music and the Arts takes place on the Irish August Bank Holiday Weekend. You will need to book early if you want to be at Mannix Point during the festival. www.celticmusicfestival.com
