About Mannix Point on the Ring of Kerry Coast

Hello, I’m Mortimer.
My family name is Moriarty but you may prefer to address me as

(Muircheartach Seosamh Breandan Ó Muircheartaigh), which is my full name in Irish.

I’d like to welcome you to the Mannix Point Caravan & Camping Website and later, I hope, to the campsite.

Situated at the edge of Europe, this tranquil park with 500 metres of waterfront is spectacularly located. It is surrounded on three sides by hills and mountains and faces the Atlantic islands of Valentia and Beginish on the south west. It is described in prestigious travel guides as “one of the best campsites in Ireland”; “one of our best addresses”; “a nature lovers paradise” and much more.

Mannix Point was opened as a Camping and Caravan Park in 1984. It was very small and very basic. Everyone said “Don’t change anything. It’s perfect”. Each year since then I made changes and each year people said “This is perfect. Don’t change anything”. In another twenty years it may be “perfect”. We’ll see!

Mannix Point is a special place. That’s not just my biased opinion. Mannix Point has won fifteen national and international awards including The Award of Excellence and The Best Welcome in Europe.

You will find a full range of facilities here. Hygiene and cleanliness are high on our agenda. I have been a walker and camper all my adult life and I know how important it is to step in to a clean, hot shower. The laundry is equipped with two commercial washing machines and two commercial driers plus a sink for hand washing. Clothes lines are available outside.
Washing up facilities, with continuous hot water, are also in this room. The Camper’s Kitchen is well equipped with crockery and pottery plus cookers, microwave fridges and freezer. (These facilities were not available when I was camping!) The adjoining dining room is comfortable and spacious.
