Mannix Point Camping and Caravan Park |
|
|
Situated at the edge of Europe, this tranquil park with 500 metres
of waterfront is spectacularly located. It is surrounded on three
sides by hills and mountains and faces the Atlantic islands of
Valentia and Beginish on the south west. It is described in prestigious
travel guides as "one of the best campsites in Ireland"; "one
of our best addresses"; "a nature lovers paradise" and
much more.

The impeccably clean on-site facilities include a laundry with
washers and dryers, a washing-up area with continuous hot water
and a cosy campers' sitting room with turf fire in the evenings
which is renowned for impromptu music sessions. There is a a keyboard,
a 200 year old out-of-tune piano, a guitar and tin whistles but
people who have been here before now bring their own instruments!
There are no pool tables or television or video games. Instead
there is good conversation, good music and good fun.
There is also a campers' kitchen and dining room with cookers,
microwave, fridges and freezer plus a BBQ and picnic area.
Mannix
Point caters well for campervans (motorhomes) and caravans. There
are 35 electricity points, 13amp for campervans, caravans and tents.
There are also facilities for chemical disposal and grey water
disposal.
You are welcome to bring your well-behaved dogs which in the interest
of hygiene and safety must be kept on lead. There is plenty of
exercise space for them along the stony beach which adjoins the
park.
Whatever your interest or choice of activity, ask me about it.
I am a Bord Failte registered Local Tour Guide and I take great
pleasure in helping you to make the most of your holiday.
